46  TekniWAP Support / FAQ & Site Updates / Huge Server Loss on: March 24, 2004, 07:22:16 pm
Arguing  Blowing Up  Shooting  3 2 1...

The server that my site was hosted on got formatted.  Everything got deleted.
Luckily I had a backup of the files that was a little over a week old but the only backup of my databases was over a month old.
So all of the new users and all the the posts to the forum within the past month were lost.

The reason this all happened was because of some type of billing dispute between the company that hosts my files and the data center that physically holds the servers.

So I got screwed out of a lot of data and moved my site to a dedicated machine hosted at a different location.
The only problem is that I need to set-up the site to work on the new server and it is taking some time because there are a lot of differences between the old server and this new one.

***

I have added all of the missing Premium Users back into the database but you might need to set-up your usernames again.
Net Alert Sender now works again.
Text Paging still doesnt work (that well).
Network tools does not work.

***

I will be working as quick as possible to bring the site back up and if you have any problems/questions just message me.

Thanks,
Jason

Updated to 1.0.38

*Nextel must have changed something around that made this program not work.
It's updated and now works again.

Yeah,
the only reason it was probably working was because you just got the phone and it had the 30-days free of internet on it.
Order the Basic NOL and you'll be set.
50  TekniWAP Support / Support / How to get Sub ID w/o any Internet Service from Nextel on: March 03, 2004, 04:54:47 pm
I suggest that everyone at least order the Basic NOL plan for $3.50/month.
No problems that way. Dancing

The Winamp Controller program is only for controlling Winamp that is running on a computer, not for listening to it through the phone.

I've tried on other people's phones and got the same result.  Think

Check what version your browser is,
Net -> Hold down Menu -> About Openwave

I have 4.1.26m.737 (MOT-76/02.01)

54  TekniWAP Support / Support / Using phone as a modem on: February 25, 2004, 07:02:29 pm
TekniWAP is only available on the phone's browser.
It doesnt have anything to do with the dial-up service.

The free internet thing is only for your phone's internal web browser, not the dial-up.
Certain plans come with the dial-up option on your account but for everyone else it's $10 a month.

I'm not sure how Boost's dial-up works but when I set up my Nextel for dial-up, I had to call up and activate it.

Maybe someone with boost could explain better...

When you get a Error 500: Internal Server Error click the details button to display a little bit more info about whats going on.
If it says Compile Error then that means the browser in your phone can't figure out the code on the web page.
(Either there is an error in the page or the phone doesnt support a feature on the page.)

Hey Fire,  have you ever got paypal to work on the phone?
I havn't and i think it's made for a newer browser other then what my phone has.

56  TekniWAP Support / FAQ & Site Updates / TekniWAP - Web Sites Section on: February 24, 2004, 03:52:16 am
Hey everyone,

If you all noticed a couple weeks ago, I gave the Web Sites section a complete new look.
Everything is dynamically loaded and categorized with cool pictures (if your phone supports it.)

If you know of a link that deserves to be included into one of the categories then please send a message to FireRunt on either this site or on AIM.
(Make sure to include the complete URL.)
He is taking care of all of the links inside the Web Sites section.

Thanks,
Jason
57  TekniWAP Support / Support / How does this work? on: February 22, 2004, 02:07:18 pm
When you activate a new account with nextel, your phone has the internet enabled for about 30 days.
That's just so they can send the phone updates.  After the 30 days is up, its not gonna work anymore.

Even though the phone has no home page, you can send it links that allow allow you to go anywhere. Smile

Try logging into this page: http://messaging.nextel.com/cgi-prot/iPageExt.dll?cmd=doMsgLog&Type=0
See if any of your messages come up.  If they don't show up then you are having some other issues and I would call Nextel and fix them.

If you want you can message me on AIM at TekniDude and I can help you out.

59  TekniWAP Support / Support / virgin mobile (net alerts) on: February 20, 2004, 08:26:45 pm
Ohh... well the only way to send an alert is to figure out the phone's SubID and SubHost.

The SubID acts like your phone number on the internet, its the only way you can address the phone.
Try calling up Virgin and asking them or figure out if they have a developer's web page.

Sorry but the net alert system I use currently only works for Nextel.

Try visiting this page with your phone:
http://www.teknidude.com/wap/info.asp

See if anything comes up under SubID and SubHost, if it does show up then chances are you can send alerts to your phone.

Let me know if it shows up but don't post your SubID.
