Two Way Message Alias
Whenever I send a two way message some people get my phone number which is in front of the @messaging.nextel.com. I use 2way alot and since the Nextel is my "private line" I would rather not divulge my phone number. Can anyone lead me to a solution to this problem I would like to use an alias but Nextel dosen't support this option. Maybe a online solution that i can route my two way traffic through. Any help would surely be appreciated TIA FAN

If you are a Premium User of TekniWAP then that feature is available.
In the Prefs for Pager Pro change your carrier to Free Incoming.
All messages sent will now come from USERNAME@tekniwap.com instead of showing your phone number.

Another good enhancement idea is a way to save numbers on the program because i usually have to look on the phone just got get a number. i wont mind having to type them in but just to save them would be cool.

Yeah, the only way that would be possible is if you typed all the numbers/names into the computer.
I may add that in the future but it will take some time.

Add sound to the Nextel Message screen when a new message is found.  I use the program at home because I don't have coverage there. If I could set a WAV file to play when a new text message is downloaded that would be great.   Cool

(I'm always getting messages that are like 12 hours old delivered to my phone when I leave for work in the morning.... it sucks)

Great idea!! I will be adding that in the next version.

Can you make the a version of the program Web-based?  It would be nice to use it when I'm at work and I'm not to keen on downloading any programs on the the work PC.

Visit http://messaging.nextel.com/ and click on Message Inbox to view them online.

An idea i think would be cool is have an option to save the p@$$word into the program so you dont have to type it every time.
Also a bug that i found is if the prog. is open for a long time and i try to quit it it freezes and shows an error. i dont have the error right now but ill copy and paste it if i get it.

The p@$$word is now saved, as soon as you open the program it will start downloading your messages so you dont have to click or type anything.
I am getting that error also, hopefully I can figure it out with the next release.

All you need is basic internet access on your phone. It runs just like a web page.

If you are running your computer behind a router or firewall, make sure you are forwarding/unblocking the port that the server is running on.

Once you have that working you access it with the URL: http://your_ip_address:portnum/
Example: http://192.168.1.100:8081/
If you need to find your IP address then click here.

Send a net alert with the URL directly to your phone for easy access.

As long as you can access TekniWAP, you can get AIM on your phone.

Visit TekniWAP and select Web Sites -> ISP's -> AIM
Select Sign On and enter your screen name and p@$$word.

You now have AIM on your cell.

The buddy list is pretty self explanatory, just select a buddy and send a message.

Ouch indeed, I would downgrade my plan if I were you.

The net alerts will be saved for up to 7 days inside nextel's system, and then sent to you whenever you turn the phone on.
It may however, take up to an hour after you power the phone up.

Thanks for donating!! Applause  and sorry for taking so long in responding.

Anyone know when the phone is coming out officially?

(You cant attach pictures yet, they need to be hosted somewhere and you have to link to them.)

All the web stuff (TekniWAP) is ASP except for the server-side of the Music Tracker, that's PHP.
And all the computer programs are in VB. I have never really had a need to move to C or .Net stuff yet.

41  TekniWAP Support / FAQ & Site Updates / How to get TekniWAP on Boost Mobile on: April 02, 2004, 06:43:19 pm
[list=1]
  • Call boost and tell them you want to sign up for the $0.20 cents a day

Note: A few people have told me that they didnt even have to sign up, you can try skipping to #2, but if it doesnt work, perform #1

  • Once activated, go to "Net", then go all the way down to the bottom and go to "Web Search", then go to 6, "Enter Site"
  • Type in the following: tekniwap and press ok

  • Press the soft button under About

  • Press the soft button under Mark

  • Your phone will now get sent the Net Alert for TekniWAP[/list:o]
Note: I know this is pretty much self explanatory, but to save you the trouble, do not forget to LOCK your important alerts.

(It was spelled wrong= avatar)

It's those pictures underneath your name on the left side of the screen.

Click the button at the top and scroll down to the Avatar control panel.
You can upload a picture from your computer or copy one from another site.
