I've been trying to make my own WAP page using WML (XML) and I found a tutorial, that includes showing you how to display images on your phone via wbmp format.. Now I know it can be done becasue I see the COLOR images on the WAP Tekniwap page, but for some reason when I upload them to my site, and try to view them my phone ignores them..

Here is what I have so far..

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE wml PUBLIC "-//WAPFORUM//DTD WML 1.1//EN"
"http://www.wapforum.org/DTD/wml_1.1.xml">

<wml>
<card title="Image"> <p>
This is an image
<img src="http://transpar3nt.com/wap/stickman.wbmp" alt="stickman" />
in a paragraph
</p></card>
</wml>

^^^ The following was uploaded to http://transpar3nt.com/wap/test.wml

The image is in the correct format and location to my knowledge however my phone refuses to display it.. :/ Any suggestions?? What am I doing wrong...

I also found the following site useful for converting giif's, jpegs, etc.. into .wbmp format.

Thanks a Bunch!

What software is your host running? IIS or apache? Whatever it is, you have to declare the wbmp mime-type for it to get sent right.

What phone are you trying?

Try renaming the file to .bmp and give that a shot.

For the TekniWAP logo, I am using a .bmp for black/white phones and a .gif for the ones that support color.
And i'm pretty sure you need to keep the filesizes under 2K.
