First... issue..  I wouldnt worry about any data submited in the net alert. nobody really cares....

Second the net aert is stored on the phone. The phone will delete the net alert if the phone is powered off after the net alert is viewed (on i730).

third, Nextel uses net alers and the sub id for troubleshooting purposes and for notification of two way messages...

Motorola is giving datacables away to people that have a i530, i730 (series), i830.
Why?....    Motorola messed up and thier is a major bug with all the new phones. This bug would cause nextel phone to lock up or power of when he GPS feature is used. Nextel was forced to turn off the service until motorola fixes the issue.  To make things better motorola is giving away the datacables....

You have 3 options..

1. have your parents move.... (or contact nextel and request a network ticket. site devolipment is partically based on cust request for coverage at any given area)
2. get a repeater
3. Some companies purchased a car kit with a hard mounted antani. Then placed it on thier biulding. They would then have a station that they plug in thier nextel phone and that phone would use the exteernal antani.. you gain about 3 DB out of this... This may work if the signal is not too bad....

   The phone book entries are being saved on Nextel.com as if you had NOL address book.. Looks like another hole in the nextel web authentication service. Looking at this if you have NOL address book this is the same address book.... If you donot  nextel.com will tell you  that you donot have this feature... When the phone accesses it this way it dosnt check to see if you are autorized....


Not to worry you phone book entries are not being stored in jasons back pocket....

*If a message is sent through PTN@page.nextel.com it is an SMS message - you will be charged 15 cents. This message will show up at a TEXT message.
** Messages sent to PTN@messaging.nextel.com come though as a net message. 10 cents per message unles you have premier service.

If you are looking for an adjustment for text messages Claim that they are SPAM.... Chances are that some newb will credit it back to you... This may not work for very much longer. Rember when trying to get an adjustment the agent you are talking to is human.. Be nice to them and know what you want before you call....

Getting an IP with out paying anything.....

FYI... If you work for any major corperation, chances are you can get a discount on new equipment and your bill..... I believe even McDonalds employees can get a discount....

FYI The next phone launch will be the i315 (SEP 1-7) then shortly after i325. The i860 will launch on OCT 1.  No comment on the i930... Gem pluss is working on a sim copier... to copy you phone book entries.....

If you have an I860 now that would indicate you know someone at motorola or got it on ebay or somethin like that.  Best thing would be to contact the guy you got it from... You can probably get a software update when the phone launches.. unless your IMEI is 010101010101010. If that is the case you have a phone that is worse than beta.
Multi media services should work for the i860..... Thier probably will not be an aditional charge for sending MMS messages however thier probably will be when the phone launches...

Nextel is currently working on Nationwide group connect... Keep an eye out for that....

Motorola screwed up with the software on it new line GPS phones. For GPS to work on them it requires a software update. Motorola is giving away USB data cables for people with a 530, 730, 830... more information at http://www.nextel.com/gpsupdate
