Heres another way that I used on my i415 without having net enabled (ok so the net is enabled on all boost phones, just restricted to the boost site so you can spend money  ).
1. click on web
2. hold down the menu key for about 3 secs and the browser menu will come up
3. goto bookmarks (a message will come up saying Not Found)
4. hit more, then go to site
5. type in tekniwap
6. scroll to net alert and hit ok ok ok

you should now get the net alert from tekniwap. You don't have to do 5 and 6 but its a pain in the butt to keep having to do 1-4 everytime you want on the net.
