Title: Two Way Message Alias
Post by: DJFANTASIA on July 14, 2004, 07:02:18 pm
Two Way Message Alias
Whenever I send a two way message some people get my phone number which is in front of the @messaging.nextel.com. I use 2way alot and since the Nextel is my "private line" I would rather not divulge my phone number. Can anyone lead me to a solution to this problem I would like to use an alias but Nextel dosen't support this option. Maybe a online solution that i can route my two way traffic through. Any help would surely be appreciated TIA FAN

You could set up an alias/forwarder on your email server/ISP. so that DJFANTASIA@isp.net  gets forwarded to ##########@messaging.nextel.com

If you are a Premium User of TekniWAP then that feature is available.
In the Prefs for Pager Pro change your carrier to Free Incoming.
All messages sent will now come from USERNAME@tekniwap.com instead of showing your phone number.

I've tried restting my carrier in prefs, however it always defaults back to Free Incoming.

Any ideas, thanks

Certain phones have been handling the pager code differently so I have updated the page and everything should be working again.
Try it out and let me know if it still does not change.
